A total of three student-leaders from Republic Central Colleges (RCC) and Colegio de San Rafael (CDSR) bagged three places out of the twenty slots in the regional level of the prestigious Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) held last July 22, 2019 at the Aquino Center, Luisita, San Miguel, Tarlac City.
Ms. Abigail A. Cayanan - Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics, Magna Cum Laude (RCC), Ms. Elaine B. Bernardo - Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Cum Laude (RCC), and Mr. Renz L. Raydanas - BS in Business Administration, Cum Laude (CDSR) received the awards recognizing them as the outstanding students of the Philippines from Central Luzon.
This year’s TOSP included a four-day formation which taught the awardees to create their own advocacies through enhancing their academic capabilities, leadership skills and social responsibility engagements.
Dr. Jumar G. Basco, Director of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and Community Extension Service Office (CESO) said that that this year’s TOSP-Region III is a significant achievement because it proves that more RCCians are up to the challenge of excellence and leadership.
Together with the awardees during the event were Dr. Victoria A. Lazatin, RCC President, Dr. Charito R. Wui, Dean of the College of Arts, Sciences and Education, Mrs. Pacencia H. Gamino, Dean of the College of Business and Accountancy and Mr. Airwin S. Ditianquin, CDSR Registrar.
The Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines is an annual national activity held to recognize students who showed exemplary performance not only in their academics but also as exceptional servant-leaders who make great differences in their circles.
