The event formally started with a welcome message from the RCC Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Gloria B. Abrazado. Subsequently, Dr. Caridad Oli Abuan, CHED Region III Director, delivered her inspirational message that centers on effective leadership. Dr. Abuan said that IT leaders should be innovative and willing to take calculated risks so as to be able to bring growth and effect meaningful change. Following the presentation of Dr. Abuan is the CEO and founder of PABACUS,, Inc. and concurrently the president of the Metro Clark ICT Council, Mr. Joy Cuison, presented current trends in IT including the discussion on Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Data Science. According to Mr. Cuison, the academe should prepare their students in these areas. The third and final speaker was Dr. Alma S. Espartinez, VP for Academic Affairs of Holy Angel University who presented the Art of Leadership. The presentation reminds us that a leader must be driven by principles, aided by values & character and enabled by skills, with a sense of purpose, direction and vision. The event concluded with so much learnings for the participants and appreciation to the host institution, Republic Central Colleges. |
